Welcome to Jerry Langland's Home Page!
This is Langland.com, my "main" website where I store all sorts of
psuedo-useful
information about myself and for myself.

So, how many people know why we call these things "Home Pages?" Ever
notice how people refer to their website as their "Home Page."
Today most people use them as calling cards for themselves or their company,
i.e. a "company's home on the web."

|
However, originally, a person's "Home Page" was the site they went to when their
browser started up, e.g. the default browser location, also called a "Home
Page." Same idea, originally these pages were the place you stored all
your favorite links and you designed them yourself to use as your own launching
pad into the web. Over time, people started using them more as
advertisements then master link pages. This became particularly true
with the advent of portal sites like Yahoo, or Google.
So, long story short, this site is my home page, my master link page. But
since I also advertise myself (I am a Systems Architect, Administrator,
Programmer, "Quant" and Consultant...so am always looking for work) I have
information about myself on this site as well.

SHG Services is an LLC that I am half of, TheJerry.Com is my "hobby/fun" site.
Langland.net is my family site (which is in horrible/terrible disrepair right
